White Wine
White wine tends to get overlooked in the organic conversation, which is a shame, because whites have less tannin and oak to hide behind. The quality of the fruit comes through directly. That's why people who switch to organic whites tend to notice the difference immediately. A Pinot Grigio from a small estate in Friuli where the alpine air preserves bright acidity and the winemaker lets the grape speak for itself is a completely different experience from the mass-produced version sharing the same name on a grocery store shelf.
Our whites come from regions where white winemaking has been refined over centuries: northeastern Italy, the Loire Valley, Sardinia, Austria, the slopes of Mt. Etna. These are producers who trust their fruit enough to keep intervention in the cellar to a minimum, and several make wines with no added sulfites at all. The result is whites with more personality, more texture, and more of a reason to pay attention to what you're drinking.
The Vermentino di Sardegna and the Grüner Veltliner are the bottles our customers reach for when they want something crisp and uncomplicated. For a white with more weight and complexity, the Soave Classico and the Friulano from Collio are the ones people tend to come back to.
