The Latins used to say: nomen, omen to mean than often a name is the precise definition of what a person (or a thing) is. This wine’s name, Puro, is exactly expressing what this wine is. It is an organic and pure Chianti made with 100% Sangiovese grape from the Rufina area north of Florence, with no added sulfites. At the nose, scents of cranberries and cherries, pomegranate and wet forest floor, followed by pine tree and a note of humid stones. It is fresh and crisp, with firm tannins and it is smooth. Adequately persistent and intense, it is an everyday excellent Chianti.
Note: it is better to open the bottle a few hours before enjoying it in a glass.
Pairing: I like Chianti with pizza tomato sauce and mozzarella, or with roasted chicken, or any pasta with red sauce and ragu.
Appellation: Chianti DOCG, Italy
