Willamette Valley in Oregon is one of the most interesting AVAs in the US, and Gran Moraine makes a great product for the price. The purple color anticipates a light to medium body Pinot Noir, yet intense at the nose. Rose and violets, smoky and spicy with nutmeg and cloves, pine forest and red dry potpourri. Moderately tannic, it is not aggressive but full of layers, interesting and never tough.
Excellent for Pinot Noir lovers who don’t like fruity and dense wines.
Grape: Pinot Noir
Pairing: Soft cheeses and white meat, like chicken and pork; but good also with grilled salmon or tuna.
Appellation: Willamette Valley AVA, Yamhill-Carlton District, OR USA
