Nero d’Avola is one of the few Sicilian indigenous grapes to have recently gained notoriety as more than a “grape to blend”.
Its generally fragrant texture and the low tannins in its skin make it elegant, but it remains structured thanks to the abundance of sun and light in Sicily.
At the nose, Nerobaronj (Black Baron) starts with morello cherry and raspberry jam, then cloves and candied orange skin, followed by iron and graphite notes.
At the palate it is smooth, elegant but vibrant and unique.
