Primitivo shares the same origin of Zinfandel, both from Montenegro (former Yugoslavia). The first made its way to Southern Italy between Apulia and Basilicata, the other one traveled to California before prohibition.
Their DNA is the same and this Primitivo has the very round, smooth structure that can be found in the best expressions of Zinfandel.
It has a limpid red color and at the nose red fruits prevail. At the palate it confirms the fruitiness with a hint of sapidity, and some notes of balsamic.
Pairing: Great with meatballs, steak and fries and aged cheese.
Appellation: Puglia IGP, Italy
