Frédéric Magnien is the fifth generation of the Magnien family to manage this domaine in Burgundy, with parcels of land in 31 different crus in the villages of Vosné-Romanée, Saint Denis, Chambolle-Musigny and Gevrey-Chambertin. The winery is certified organic since 2008 and biodynamic since 2015.
This Seuvrées 2018 from the village of Gevrey-Chambertin is a very intense and bold wine. It starts with redcurrants (cassis) and cranberry sauce, blackcurrants, iron notes, followed by minerality notes of chalk, clay, then black pepper and iodine, cardamon and bay leaves. Yes, definitively a complex wine. The tannins are present and ripe. If this wine was a person, it would be an artist who makes you think. I like it because it is not easy, but it is very good and interesting.
