The Visintini family co-founded a consortium of organic farmers in their area in northeastern Italy. They make this excellent Friulano in their estate located less than two miles from the Slovenian border. The color is straw yellow with amber hues. Scents of dried apricots, a nutty note, candied peaches, melon and citrus honey, dandelion and wet granite complete the bouquet. The wine is intense and complex.
At the palate it is smooth and balanced, persistent with a very interesting and layered finish of almonds, dates and seashells.
Grape: Friulano (Tocai)
Pairing: This Friulano is very versatile. Pair it with pane e salame, salumi boards, speck and pickled vegetables, hot pizza with cheese – or even tuna tartare.
Appellation: Friuli Colli Orientali DOC, Italy
