Our score: 95

A unique Chardonnay made with grapes planted in the Gualtallary district at 5,000 feet of altitude. High acidity and minerality, from the stony and limestone soil. Its brilliant color anticipates the wet-river-gravel start at the nose, followed by nuances of different citruses including lemon zest and bergamot. Jasmin and honeysuckle, unripe pineapple and vanilla complete the wide-ranging bouquet. Fresh, crisp and almost salty at the palate, it is persistent and balanced enough. Definitively, more the style of a northern Burgundy Chardonnay than a Californian one, even if it is matured in small French barrels for 12 to 16 months.

Very good and ready to drink if you like precise and crisp Chardonnay. It will be smoother 5 years from now.
