Giovanna Bagnasco, owner of Agricola Brandini, says: “We believe that organic is a way of life rather than a method of production: we want to leave the soil and the land to the next generation in better condition than we found it”.
Barbera grape has its own fan club: people who love earthy, crisp wines, bold and bodied, but not so smooth. It’s a wine to enjoy with warm food, and this one is no exception. Ripe plums and dry red flowers at the nose, with pine tree, iron and a touch of tangerine zest. Inky in the mouth, with its important acidity embedded in a warm and persistent ripe fruit taste.
It’s in the category: "You either love it, or hate it".
Grape: Barbera
Pairing: Perfect with goulash and mashed potatoes, or a Chateaubriand with spinach or fries. But I like it also with spaghetti cacio e pepe.
Appellation: Barbera d'Alba Superiore DOCG, Italy
