Our Score: 91
Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara are the same grapes of Amarone, but instead of being “dried” on the nets for four months like in the Amarone appellation, they are pressed immediately after harvest.
Bardolino is usually crisp and simple, but this Bardolino Superiore is an exception. It maintains the main characteristics of Bardolino (very pleasant and “not demanding”, easy to drink), but it is more complex.
The color is ruby red tending to purple, it is Intense at the nose with aromas of red fruit, especially ripe marasca cherries, notes of vegetables and sweet spices. Soft and smooth at the palate, it is velvety, medium bodied and fruity at the finish with a touch of sapidity which reminds of its terroir in the Garda Lake region.
Grapes: Corvina, Rondinella, Molinara
Pairing: Pasta with cheese, mushrooms or red sauce, white meat, savory cheeses. Serve at 16-18° C.
Appellation: Bardolino Superiore DOCG, Italy
