Mater Matuta, or "Goddess of the Dawn", was a divinity of roman times whose temple was in Satricum, close to Rome. The wine is a blend of Syrah, which gives character and personality, and Petit Verdot, to add structure.
At the nose, we experience ripe morello cherries and nutmeg, pepper, red flowers and a touch of balsamic. At the palate, the wine is persistent, complex, and the finish is long.
Grapes: Syrah, Petit Verdot
Pairing: Smoked meats, aged cheeses, burgers and lamb knuckle.
Appellation: Lazio IGT, Italy
