A fine everyday wine from one of the many viticulture areas of Tuscany. Montecucco was not even on connoisseurs' map until 10 years ago, but the specific soil and micro-climate there allows Sangiovese to grow with a character that I like.
The color is a bit darker than in many other Sangiovese of Tuscany, while at the nose plums and violets emerge as expected, with geranium, black pepper and some wood note at the end. At the palate it is crisp and just smooth enough, medium bodied. The persistence and the quality of the finish makes it great company for any dinner.

Pairing: Warm vegetable soups, roasted beef, pork sausages.
