This is a very interesting expression of Vacqueyras made by the Perrin family, pioneers of sustainability in France.
Vacqueyras can be harsh and difficult. This one keeps the austere personality of the appellation, but is balanced and pleasant. Ripe red raspberries and cassis at the nose, hearty, bloody, with a touch of clove, herbaceous and balsamic. Complex and full bodied, yet with its minerality very present.
Grapes: Grenache, Syrah
Pairing: It definitively needs food. Aged cheese, stewed beef, roasted lamb, grilled vegetables, risotto with sausage and radicchio.
